4/26/03...The MORTON SPECIAL INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT was played today. It featured the ten best Pingball players in the world. It started off with Belser beat Jacobson and Cashdollar beat Cirilli during the play-in games. Then Belser met number one Rhoades (at the time), and took it down to the wire. In the bottom of the last inning and down by one, Belser cracked a homer to leave Rhoades in disbelief and with a blemish on his undefeated record. So Belser advanced to play Taylor who ate up Overcash. This wasn't even a came as Taylor won 14-4. In the lower half of the bracket, Benji met up with Geil (number two in the world at that time). Luck must have pulling for the underdog rookies, because Cashdollar rocked a homerun in the bottom of the last inning to take the game like Belser did. The top two seeds went down in the quarter finals games- it was quite impressive. Also, Erwin took on Schmitz. In a gross looking game, Sweet Feet Erwin dropped Schmitz on his face with a 12-2 victory. Then Benji and Erwin hooked up in the semifinals for another Sweet Feet victory as Erwin won 12-2. Belser and Taylor was the other semifinals match. This was a defensive feast as the resulting score was 3-1. Belser ended up taking the match in what seemed to be a instant classic. Then for the finals matchup, two tennis players were featured in the main event. Brent Belser the rookie verse Jeff Erwin the sweet footed veteran. The game started off intense and other Pingball players watched every move. But soon enough experience prevailed as Sweet Feet Erwin pulled out the victory 10-2. Belser had a good showing in the tourney and went home with a number 4 world ranking jumping up three spots (check the homepage for other world rankings). In doubles, the heated rivalry was back it with Team Dominate(Geil and Erwin) and Beasts(Rhoades and Schmitz) in the finals. Beasts handled (BJ and Cash), while Team Dominate got rid of Super Squad(Taylor and Overcash). In the finals the two top doubles teams battled it out in a fierce war. But in the end Beasts ended up losing and Team Dominate avenged last week's loss. Also, about five fans showed up to support the PPA. The whole night was a great success and more members were added and great matches were played. Check out the new pics and added bios. Vote for the top player and fan of the week. Keep up the support for the PPA. "If ya don't know, now ya know..."

4/22/03...After three days of being published, www.pingball.bizhosting.com reached the TRIPLE DIGITS. Over 100 people have hit the site or it has been hit more than 100 times (anyway you wanna look at it.) Keep the sport of pingball going and keep stopping by to check up on it at the website.

4/22/03...The PPA suffered a loss today. The number one player in the world, Reggie Rhoades, informed us about his girlfriend and his decision to "part ways." Hopefully this recent happening won't affect his pingball play. From everyone here at pingball, thanks for your support.

....Coming up on Saturday, April 26, is the Morton Special Invitational Tourney. Special guests are expect to be in attendance.

4/20/03...The PPA officially started today with the Dietz Dome Home Opener. The top six players in the world showed up to compete: 1)Reggie Rhoades, 2)Tim Geil, 3)Jeff Erwin, 4)Nate Taylor, 5)Jon Schmitz, and 6)Ty Overcash. Rhoades took a buy and awaited the winner of the Taylor and Schmitz match. Geil also had a buy and awaited the winner from the Erwin and Overcash match. Erwin blew the rookie Overcash out of the water with his "grandslammas," and Nate took care of Jon in a close match. But as soon as Nate met with Reg, his fate had been decided. Putting up a good fight, Nate fell to the untouchable Reg who faced Geil after Geil crushed Earwin. The one and two seeds met in the finals with Rhoades having the upper hand. Geil was there to steal the number one see away, but came up short in the end. Geil described his play, "I played like crap*. I just played like crap*." In the consolation game, Erwin handed Nate a sound beating...which was kinda suprising---sike. And in the doubles match, "Team Dominate" got dominated by "Beast's." All was good for the night and the cheerleaders made an appearance also. Next Saturday is the Morton Special Invitational Tourney that will hopefully feature some of these world performers.
